Technology……………………

i haven’t posted in a longasss minute!!!!!!!!

This summer has confirmed how evil technology is…freal though, life used to be so simple! Graduate college, get a steady job, live happy.  Buy books at the bookstore, rent movies at the nearest Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, and watch some family TV like Boy Meets World or Full House.

Now Borders closed down, Hollywood Video got screwed, and Blockbuster is almost done (but they got those blockbuster booths up like the red box ones that kinda saved them).   Thousands are getting laid off at companies like Cisco.  Now it’s graduate from an excellent university, become unemployed for a long minute.  Shit like this just makes me think of how bad it’s going to be as we keep progressing.

What’s the point of hanging out when you can hang out virtually?  What’s the point of going to school when you can learn online?  What’s the point of malls, bookstores, movie rental locations when you can just shop and stream movies online?  We don’t even need books anymore, let’s just get e-book readers!  And who needs toys when you have Nintendo DS’s and PS3’s?  Now when I see little kids I just see them holding those DS’s or PSPs in their hands gaming away and I SMH.  Many of them already have nicer phones than I have!  What is the world coming to?!

At this rate, unemployment’s going to devastate the world in a matter of a few years.  Freal though, we don’t even need workers working cash registers anymore. If you go in Home Depot, to purchase items you just check out yourself with their machines.  Eventually there will be no need to hire retail workers.  And ultimately, we’re probably going to have technology do all the work for us, so there’s going to be no necessity for hiring people to work.

For animals, survival of the fittest is being able to eat and not be eaten.  For humans, it mostly revolves around technology.  It’s like in order to make the big bucks in the world, you have to innovate and create things that make people’s lives easier.  Ultimately, in that sense we’re pushing for humans to do the least physical activity.  Pretty soon we’re going to have machines and robots do everything so that we don’t have to do anything.  And if that happens, there would be no available jobs.  No need to move.  No need AND no way to do anything.  I used to think technology will get so advanced that we’re going to create robots that will have the ability to think and dominate the world…like i-Robot…haha but the human species is doomed even before this would happen.

We can’t do anything to stop it; we’re in this vicious cycle.  Survival of the fittest: if we don’t keep up with technology we’re going to be eaten.  But if we continue, we’re screwed.  Technology is leading to our doom!
